‘Archaeological Mission in Sahara’.

This is an inter- and multidisciplinary project, initiated in 1990, involving surface reconnaissance and excavations of pre-protohistoric burial sites and dwellings. In Tunisia, the research areas include: Kebili; the Chott el Jerid; the region of Tatouine, El Kef. In Libya, the research areas include: the Acacus and Messak massifs and the surrounding areas. Training and knowledge transfer in situ and in Italy. Digital analysis and cataloging of Saharan rock art sites, with emphasis on conservation issues. The project is currently led by Prof. Savino Di Lernia.
