‘Research in Central Anatolia: excavations in Usakli Höyük (Yozgat), holy city of the Hittites’.

The archaeological research in the Usakli Höyük site, on the Central Anatolian plateau, started in 2008 and currently led by Dr Anacleto D’Agostino, aims to uncover the Hittite settlement, identified as ancient Zippalanda, a holy city consecrated to the worship of the Storm God, through the excavation of the public buildings of the acropolis and the lower city and understanding how the town was developed and transformed over time.
