The project, operating continuously in Syria between 1964 and 2011, when excavation was interrupted by the war, under the guidance of Davide Nadali, aims to bring to light the remains of the city of Ebla, which flourished between 2400 and 1600 BC, to disseminate the results at various levels, to train young Syrian scholars, specialized in excavation and restoration, with a view to promoting the development of the Idlib region.
