‘Western Delta Archaeological Museum: valorization and protection of archaeological and historical heritage in Rosetta’.

The city of Rosetta, known for the discovery of the Rosetta Stone, is also the location of numerous Ottoman houses, the most important of which is Amasili House. Built by General Amasili, it is open to the public but it is empty. The project, active since 2018 led by Prof. Michele Asolati’s, has the purpose of conservative restoration of the building, the restoration of period furnishings, the installation of the Archaeological Museum of the Western Delta to serve the archaeological projects undertaken in the region.
