La mostra “Tota Italia” inaugura ufficialmente a Pechino l’Anno della Cultura e del Turismo Italia-Cina 2022

La grande esposizione, già accolta alle Scuderie del Quirinale, apre le celebrazioni ufficiali dell'Anno Italia-Cina.

Domenica 10 luglio, presso il Museo Nazionale di Pechino, è stata inaugurata la mostra “Tota Italia. Alle origini di una nazione”. Curata dal Direttore Generale dei Musei Massimo Osanna insieme al Direttore del Museo Nazionale Romano, Stéphane Verger, e organizzata dal Ministero della Cultura italiano e dal Museo Nazionale Romano di concerto con le Autorità cinesi, la mostra racconta il processo di romanizzazione della penisola italiana, ripercorrendo, a partire dal IV secolo a.C., le tappe che condussero alla grande unificazione al tempo di Augusto.

L’enorme valore artistico e l’importanza storico-culturale di “Tota Italia” ne fanno il principale evento organizzato nel quadro dell’Anno della Cultura e del Turismo Italia-Cina 2022, la cui realizzazione è stata resa possibile anche grazie al fondamentale sostegno delle Autorità cinesi.

La cerimonia di inaugurazione si è tenuta alla presenza di Huang Kunming, membro del Politburo e Ministro del Dipartimento di Propaganda del Comitato Centrale del Partito Comunista Cinese con rango di Vice Premier. Per parte cinese hanno partecipato anche il Ministro della Cultura e del Turismo, Hu Heping, il Direttore del Museo Nazionale, Wang Chunfa, il Viceministro e Direttore della National Cultural Heritage Administration, Li Qun, il Viceministro della Cultura e Coordinatore Generale del Forum Culturale Italia-Cina, Zhang Xu, e il Viceministro del Dipartimento di Propaganda del Partito Comunista Cinese, Sun Yeli.

Durante il suo intervento, il Ministro Huang Kunming ha letto un messaggio del Presidente della Repubblica Popolare Cinese Xi Jinping, che ha sottolineato come Italia e Cina siano due eccezionali rappresentanti rispettivamente della civiltà occidentale e di quella orientale.

In rappresentanza dell’Italia sono intervenuti il Ministro della Cultura Dario Franceschini e l’Ambasciatore Luca Ferrari. Il Ministro Franceschini ha preso parte all’inaugurazione con un video messaggio, nel corso del quale ha letto un indirizzo di saluto del Presidente della Repubblica Sergio Mattarella.

La cooperazione in ambito culturale costituisce un aspetto centrale dell’amicizia tra i nostri Paesi. Per questo, in un frangente ancora marcato dalla pandemia, la realizzazione a Pechino di questa iniziativa, insieme alle tante proposte culturali italiane in tutta la Cina, è la conferma che le relazioni bilaterali poggiano su fondamenta solide, convergenti tra due civiltà millenarie, unite da capacità di mediazione, curiosità e reciproca ammirazione.

Nel suo intervento l’Ambasciatore Ferrari ha posto l’accento sulle similitudini che accomunano sul piano culturale l’Italia e la Cina, in quanto eredi di due civiltà che hanno contribuito allo sviluppo del mondo intero e che vantano un’antica tradizione di amicizia e dialogo. L’Ambasciatore ha definito l’organizzazione della mostra Tota Italia “un capolavoro di diplomazia culturale”, aggiungendo che questo evento

segna anche simbolicamente la comune volontà di rilanciare pienamente la nostra collaborazione, in particolare gli scambi culturali, dopo la lunga pausa imposta dalla pandemia.

Nel corso della serata si è un tenuto un ricevimento presso la Residenza dell’Ambasciatore Ferrari, a cui hanno partecipato rappresentanti delle Autorità locali ed esponenti della comunità internazionale presente in Cina. L’evento ha fornito l’occasione per promuovere di fronte alle Autorità cinesi la candidatura di Roma ad ospitare l’Esposizione Universale 2030.

‘Tota Italia’ exhibition officially opens the Italy-China Year of Culture and Tourism 2022 in Beijing

The large exhibition, already hosted at the Scuderie del Quirinale, opens the official celebrations of the Italy-China Year.

On Sunday, 10 July, the exhibition ‘Tota Italia. At the origins of a Nation‘ was inaugurated at the National Museum of China in Beijing. Curated by the Director General of the Museums Massimo Osanna together with the Director of the National Roman Museum, Stéphane Verger, and organised by the Italian Ministry of Culture and the National Roman Museum in agreement with the Chinese authorities, the exhibition recounts the process of the Romanisation of the Italian peninsula, retracing, starting from the 4th century B.C., the stages that led to the great unification at the time of Augustus.

The enormous artistic value and historical and cultural importance of ‘Tota Italia’ make it the main event organised in the framework of the Italy-China Year of Culture and Tourism 2022, the realisation of which was also made possible thanks to the fundamental support of the Chinese authorities.

The inauguration ceremony was held in the presence of Huang Kunming, Politburo member and Minister of the Propaganda Department of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee with the rank of Vice Premier. On the Chinese side, the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Hu Heping, the Director of the National Museum, Wang Chunfa, the Vice-Minister and Director of the National Cultural Heritage Administration, Li Qun, the Vice-Minister of Culture and General Coordinator of the Italy-China Cultural Forum, Zhang Xu, and the Vice-Minister of the Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of China, Sun Yeli, also attended.

During his speech, Minister Huang Kunming read out a message from the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, who stressed that Italy and China are two exceptional representatives of Western and Eastern civilisation respectively.

Italy was represented by the Minister of Culture Dario Franceschini and Ambassador Luca Ferrari. Minister Franceschini took part in the inauguration with a video message, during which he read an address of greeting from the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella.

Cooperation in the cultural sphere is a central aspect of the friendship between our countries. This is why, at a juncture still marked by the pandemic, the realisation of this initiative in Beijing, together with the many Italian cultural proposals throughout China, is a confirmation that bilateral relations rest on solid foundations, converging between two millenary civilisations, united by mediation skills, curiosity and mutual admiration.

In his speech, Ambassador Ferrari emphasised the similarities that unite Italy and China on a cultural level, as the heirs of two civilisations that have contributed to the development of the entire world and boast an ancient tradition of friendship and dialogue. The Ambassador called the organisation of the Tota Italia exhibition ‘a masterpiece of cultural diplomacy’, adding that this event

also symbolically marks the common will to fully relaunch our cooperation, especially cultural exchanges, after the long pause imposed by the pandemic.

During the evening, a reception was held at Ambassador Ferrari’s residence, attended by representatives of the local authorities and the international community in China. The event provided an opportunity to promote Rome’s candidacy to host the World Expo 2030 before the Chinese authorities.
