The great Sicilian author Leonardo Sciascia (8 January 1921 Racalmuto – 20 November 1989 Palermo) is one of the most loved and interesting Italian authors of the post-World War II period. All his books have their roots in Sicilian culture. For Sciascia, Sicily becomes an explicit metaphor of the world, where the basic themes he deals with are the nature of power, truth against deception and the lack of justice and common sense.
The lecture, in Danish, by emeritus professor at the University of Copenhagen, Lene Waage Petersen, is scheduled for April 13 at 18:30 (local time) and broadcast live on the Facebook page of the Italian Cultural Institute of Oslo.
