Ethno-Anthropological Mission to the People’s Republic of China (MEARC)

The mission consolidates and elaborates on the results of the previous ones. It deepens research into the relationship between Chinese medical systems by combining the analysis of ethnic medicine with the complex relationship between the state and minorities. It uses the specificity of the Chinese case as a comparative tool to examine medical pluralism and elaborate on the concept of the nation-state and its relations with the increasingly diverse social and cultural components.
