At this University, founded in 1582, there is an Italian language assistantship (lettorato) funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI).
The language assistant works in the Department of European Languages and Cultures, School of Italian studies, which last year celebrated its centenary. The Department offers Italian at all levels, also Master and PhD programs.
