Online the video concerts by the italian artists who performed at mondo.NYC in 2021.

“Futura” is the project created to support the promotion of Italian music abroad, as a result of the collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Italia Music Lab foundation. It consists of a music video archive that includes performances by Italian artists who over the past two years have played during the digital editions of many showcase festivals around the world.

Mondo.NYC is New York’s Annual Music, Arts & Technology Business Conference & Showcase Festival. Mondo brings together its global community of music, arts and tech industry insiders and innovators, emerging artists and their fans. In 2021, the event took place online and featured several Italian artists: the Italian-Canadian versatile singer Sara Jane Ceccarelli and Julie’s haircut, a band active since late 90’s with a long history of sonic otherworldliness.

Futura | Live at heart 2021 | Julie's Haircut

Active since the late nineties, Julie's Haircut is a band from Emilia, northern Italy, devoted to spacey, hypnotic sounds. The band’s music has evolved in time, through a series of albums and EPs, from the garage-rock soulful energy of their debut towards more experimental grounds, reaching a kaleidoscopic eclecticism that spans rock and psychedelia, from electronic to minimalism, with echoes of jazz, ethnic, dub and drone music. They have been making music with Damo Suzuki, Sonic Boom, Philip Corner, Valerio Cosi and more. Their latest album "In The Silence Electric" has been released on 4th October 2019 by Rocket Recordings.

SJC is an Italian-Canadian versatile singer. Her 2nd album MILKY WAY - Short stories between the Earth and Stars - was released on June 2021 via the Italian label Parco della Musica Records, with all original composition and a re-drafting of Chick Corea’s Children's song n.3 allowed by the author. Her original music is a blend of many different music genres, mix of all the music she has sang during her career: pop, folk, jazz, funk, reggae, hip hop. SJC was backing-vocalist of the Italian well-known songwriter Francesco de Gregori in his album dedicated to Bob Dylan Amore e Furto, Pamina in the Magic Flute by Piazza Vittorio orchestra and she was member for two editions of the Young Talent National Jazz Orchestra, produced by Fondazione Musica per Roma. In 2019, she won 1st prize as best author at one of the most well-known Italian contests, L’artista che non c’era. In 2021 she was selected for the first time by two international showcase festivals: Canadian Music Week and Mondo.NYC.

Online i video-concerti degli artisti italiani che hanno partecipato a Mondo.NYC nel 2021.

“Futura” è il progetto nato per sostenere la diffusione della musica italiana all’estero, frutto della collaborazione tra il Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale e la Fondazione Italia Music Lab. Si tratta di un video-archivio musicale che comprende esibizioni di artisti italiani che nel corso degli ultimi due anni hanno suonato nelle edizioni digitali di moltissimi showcase festival in giro per il mondo.

Mondo.NYC è lo showcase festival e conferenza annuale di New York dedicato alla musica, alle arti e alla tecnologia. Mondo riunisce una comunità globale di addetti ai lavori e innovatori del settore musicale, artistico e tecnologico, artisti emergenti e i loro fan. Nel 2021, l’evento si è svolto online e ha visto la partecipazione di alcuni artisti italiani: la versatile cantante italo-canadese Sara Jane Ceccarelli e Julie’s Haircut, band emiliana attiva dagli anni 90 e devota a suoni spaziosi ed ipnotici.

Sara Jane Ceccarelli è una cantante italo-canadese. A giugno 2021 è uscito il suo secondo album MILKY WAY - Short stories between the Earth and Stars - per Parco della Musica Records di Roma, composto interamente da brani originali e dal riadattamento della Children’s Song no. 3 di Chick Corea, autorizzata dall’autore. Le sue canzoni autografe sono un blend di differenti generi musicali, mix di tutta la musica che ha cantato e interpretato durante la sua carriera: pop, folk, jazz, funk, reggae, hip hop. SJC è stata corista nell’album di Francesco De Gregori Amore e furto dedicato a Bob Dylan, ha interpretato Pamina nel Flauto Magico dell’Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio ed è stata per ben 2 edizioni membro dell’Orchestra Nazionale Jazz Giovani Talenti, della Fondazione Musica per Roma. Nel 2019 ha vinto il 1° Premio come miglior autrice a L’artista che non c’era. Nel 2021 è stata selezionata per la prima volta per gli showcase internazionali Canadian Music Week e Mondo NYC.

Attivi fin dalla fine degli anni Novanta, i Julie's Haircut sono una band emiliana devota a suoni spaziosi ed ipnotici. La musica della band si è evoluta nel tempo, attraverso una serie di album ed EP, dal caloroso garage-rock del debutto fino a territori più sperimentali, raggiungendo un eclettismo che miscela rock e psichedelia, musica elettronica e minimalismo, con echi jazz, etnici, dub e drone. Hanno fatto musica con Damo Suzuki, Sonic Boom, Philip Corner, Valerio Cosi ed altri. Il loro ultimo album "In The Silence Electric" è uscito il 4 ottobre 2019 per Rocket Recordings.
